TURKEY'S BID FOR PEACE
WILL OPEN THE DARDANELLES TO RUSSIA. COPENHAGEN, May 9. In an interview, Bernerbund, the Turkish Minister in Berlin, declared that Turkey was willing to open the Dardanelles to Russia. Ho says that the Dardanelles were closed by the London Agreement of 1841 only because of England's demands. Turkey was now ready to fulfil Russia's demands, as later on she would be striving against Turkey's independence.
INCIDENTS OF THE WAR.
STOCKHOLM SOCIALIST CONFERENCE. BRITISH AND RUSSIAN LABOURITES WILL NOT PARTICIPATE. Received 9.5. a.m. LONDON, May 10. The National Executive of the British Labour Party refused the Dutch International Socalists' invitation to attend the Stockholm Conference. It was decided to arrange an Allied Labour Socialist Conference in London in June 1918. PETROGRAD May 10. A conference of Socialists and Extremists resolved not to participate in the Stockholm Congress, attended by Borgbjerg and SCheidemann, as the former was acting in agreement with the latter and other German Socialists, who side with the German Government.
