NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW
In view of the strenuous times through which the country is passing, the consequent lack of labour for general industries through the demands of the Defence Department, and the desire to lessen to some slight extent the calls on the Railway Department, the Committee has decided to reduce the days set asfae for the big Winter Show this year by one. Opinions of exhibitors were almost unanimous in supporting this departure, which will not have any effect on the value of the Show in any way. The entries for Butter and Cheese divisions are in advance of last year by at least 100, and so far as present indications go, they point to a most successful function. The inter-Colle-giate football matches (Wanganui-Te Aute) will be played on Wednesday, 20th June, which will this year be the first day. The horse events are scheduled to take place on Thursday, 21st June, the usual time. Entries for competitive and Manawatu Poultry Association classes are timed to close on 2nd June. Schedules are now available, and may be -had free on application from the Secretary, Box 85, Palmerston North.
