AEROPLANE DROPS BOMBS ON LONDON. SLIGHT DAMAGE DONE. Received 9.10. LONDON, May 7. The Press Bureau states that in the early morning a hostile aeroplane dropped four bombs on the outskirts of north-east London, killing a man and injuring a man and woman. There was slight damage to buildings.

TROUBLES. VIGOROUS PROTEST BY SOCIALIST. PEOPLE HUNGERING FOR POLITICAL EQUALITY. Received 9.10. AMSTERDAM, May 7 Herr Bohn, in the Reichstag, vigorously attacked the Government for compelling soldiers to subscribe to the war loan. He protested against Germany’s methods of warfare, including submarining and air raids on London, which latter could not be definitely regarded as a fortified town. Improved food conditions were impossible during the war period. The people were hungering for political equality. The Speaker called Herr Bohn to order when he declared the Government was responsible for the war. GERMANY AND THE NEUTRAL POWERS. BOLIVIA HAS BROKEN OFF RELATIONS. Received 11.5. LONDON, May 7. Bolivia has broken off relations with Germany. (Bolivia is an inland republic in South America, bounded by Brazil, Paraguay, the Argentine, ChiH, and Peru. Population 2.500,000.) TURKISH AFFAIRS. TURKS PERSECUTING THE JEWS. THREATEN THEM WITH THE ARMENIANS FATE. Received 9.10. LONDON, May 77 * Zionist organisations advices from Palestine state the Turks are driving the Jews from their homes amid scenes of looting and pillage. Djemal Pasha is reported to have declared he will make the Jews suffer the Armenians fate.
Eight thousand Jews were driven from Jaffa. Some resistors were hanged. Three hundred wore expelled from Jerusalem, and many crawled to the desert and died. GENERAL GABLES RECRUITING UNSATISFACTORY IN CANADA. CONSCRIPTION FORESHADOWED. OTTAWA, May 7. Recruiting throughout Canada is very unsatisfactory. There are indications that Mr Borden’s return will most likely witness the passage of conscription, exempting agricultural and kindred industries. The passage of compulsion in the United States has heartened eonscriptionists in Canada.
