This is cleverly dovetailed into the story, forms the setting of the most thrilling episode of the play, a powerful novel drama, which include the blowing up of a mi:: "-field, and the firing of a m"n out of the torpedo tube of a fighting submarine. The basis of the story is a war between the United States and Rumania, the rivalry in love and in war of two American naval men, the intuigues of a foreign ambassador, and the unscrupulous scheming of an 'American politician.
