Sargood, and Mr I Kellet (Labour) will be speakers a Monday night's public meeting to cob sider the curtailment of drinking faci] ities during the continuance of the wai The main resolution to be submitted i '/That this meeting of citizens of Dun edin, being satisfied that.,in order t< win the war it, is essential that through out the Empire every, means should b adopted to secure the maximum of effi ciency in military, comercial, industrial and social affairs, and to reduce privati expenditure, and also the demands upoi means of transport, and, being convinc ed that restriction of the hours of th< sale of intoxicating liquors would as sist in these directions more thWn am other single reform, urgently request! the Government to prepare and intro ducc into Parliament at the earliesi posible date a bill to .reduce the hours for the sale of liquor to hours froni 8 o 'clock a.m. to (5 o 'clock p.m., and tt use every effort to have the bill passec and brought into effect without delay.'
