AN ENLIGHTENER.
To the Editor.
Sir, —With reference to the letter signed “S. Dunbar” in your last night’s issue, I wish to correct the impression conveyed by the writer, that Mr E. W, Smith, M. P., has so little appreciation of his responsibilities that he would forward any letter he may be asked to forward, without ascertaining something about it. In the case referred to by the writer, Mr Smith courteously and properly referred the letter to me.
and I asked him to forward it on to the Minister. I made this clear at the last Council Meeting when the matter came up, but was not reported. It is not my habit to take notice of letters in the paper, but in fairness to our Memebr, I cannot let such an impression remain. Thanking you, Mr Editor, I am, etc.,
A. L. AEROWSMITH,
