TO-MORROW’S ELECTIONS.
To the Editor. Sir ; —The writer will not. be present at Taihape to-morrow, as it is arranged that I am to go to Hunterville in the interest of the Hospital Board Election. As there is no other contest pending on "Wednesday at Mangaweka, Hunterville, or Bulls, it is necessary.to call at these places and remind the voters what is going on, and what is expected of them. We have only to do this to get their assistance. What is worth doing at all is worth doing well. As far as our local Hospital is concerned, we are up against a glaring anomaly. Here we have a hospital, which we built ourselves; which is maintained by our money, and assisted and supported in every way by our own people and those of our Hinterland, but which is controlled from Wanganui or Marton, forsooth! It is quite time that this state of affairs was mended, and if the people of Taihape will only take the trouble to roll up and record their votes it will be. With regard to the Borough Council Election, as I expect all the candidates to support me, and as it is impossible for me to support them, and all the nominations being four in excess of the seats to be filled, I have decided not to exercise my individual vote for the Council Election, or canvass for any particular candidate. I trust that my two years' work as a Borough Councillor will justify you in re-electing me, and that out of sight on Wednesday, will not mean out of mind.
I am, etc., A. J. JOBLIN.
