PEACE MOVEMENT.
AUSTRIA WANTS PEACE. BERNE, April 17. Austrian newspapers declare that an honourable pace is certain and imminent. The Emperor on Sunday attended the Cathedral at Vienna on the occasion of a special peace service, and solemnly vowed that he would build a ''Church of Peace" to the Virgin Mary, the Queen of Peace. Special significance is attached to Mr Bonar Law's statement in the House of Commons, that he "believed the long night of sorrow and anguish, which had desolated the world, was drawing to a close." IRISH AFFAIRS. IRELAND'S FUTURE. LONDON, April 17. In the House of Commons to-day Mv John Dillon, on behalf of the Nationalists, moved the rejection of the Parialnent Bill extending the life of the present House of Commons. Mr. Bonar Law, replying, said that he hoped to announce the Government's intentions regarding Home Rule next week. The bill was read a second time by 28G votes to 25.
