A GARDEN FETE.

A Garden Fete is to bo held in Mr' A. L. Arrowsmith’s grounds next Thursday, that should have the support of everyone in the community who can make It convenient to find the necessary time. It is being organised by members of the Plunket Society, and is to raise funds for providing orphans of soldiers and sailors with clothing, many thousands of whom are now on the verge of destitution. A vigorous effort is being made to keep these children of British soldiers and sailors so clothed and fed that they may not be lost to the Empire At the Garden Fete there will be stalls for the sale of almost everything, therefore members of the Plunket Society will be very glad to receive donation of any produce, cakes, sweets, flowers, fancy goods, or any other article sympathisers with British orphans may generously donate.
