THREE STARS. The change of programme to-night wlil contain a grand spectacular and dramatic Drama, entitled “How Heroes are Made.” It introduces incidents in the days of Napoleon. The brief synopsis will give a fair insight into the plot : Charles and Rina are children of Captain Larive, a French army officei serving under the great Napoleon. Their mother died from shock after being robbed by a prowling band. Ten years later, Charles enlists as a drummer boy, and by heroic courage in a great battle earns the Cross of Honour, Capt Larive is a French Marshal, in the Emperor’s army Charles has become a Captain, remaining, in spite of his rapid promotion, a modest and manly youth. A leader of fashion, Madame de Longucville, neets him and sets out to ensnare him. He is protected by the devotion of his sisten Rina, and rides a wav, leaving a dangerous enemy in Madame, whose love turns to hatred, bhe plots to destroy him, and while he is on a dangerous mission with despatches from the Emepror, a message is sent that Madame is dying of love for him, and wishes to see him. He falls into the snare, and at the chateau is trapped and drugged. Rina, suspecting his whereabouts, rescues the despatches and delivers them after a perilous journey, arriving at the camp to find hen brother being tried for his life as a deserter. The trial is prfesided over by Marshal Larive, and thus the father unwillingly sentences his son to death. Rina makes a final appeal to the Emperor himself. The Emperor tears up the warrant in a dramatic scene, and commands Charle ■ to return to his regiment. Charles by superhuman efforts in a fierce battle, turns defeat into victory, thus proving that through trials and temptations 1 ‘ Heroes ane Made. ’ ’ There arc other good suportiug subjects. The Star picture will commence at 8.15.

EVERYBODY'S. The programme that attracted big business at Everybody’s last night will be finally shown to-night. The principal attraction is the splendid Blue-Bird production “The Secret of the Swamp. ’ ’ It tells an unusual and interesting story extending over 5 reels of fiilm. The fourteenth episode of “The Broken Coin” serial is also responsible for an interesting story. Supporting pictures include “The Eclair Journal,’’ and a funny comedy cailed “Getting the Goods on Gertie. A double feature programme will be presented to-morrow night. The well known actor Robert Warwick will be seen in a 5-act World Film entitled “Alias Jimmy Valentino,” a convincing logical story, giving opportunity for strong natural acting, and sincere emotionalism. Robert Warrick in the character of Jimmy Valentine has one of the strongest acting parts ever presented on the screen. The second feature is a Lasky produstion entitled “'Maria Rosa,” featuring Geraldine Farrar, the world-famed nperatic Prima Donna.
