In the House, Mr. Hughes undertook to make representations to the New Zealand Government, if it was shown that there were instances of Australian citizens over military age being prohibited from leaving the Dominion. IMPORTATION OF HIDES. LONDON, March 14. As the result of Australian and other representations, the Government will permit the importation of certain qualities of Australian and New Zealand hides and leather under license. It is understood the prohibition was originally imposed to prevent the importation of inferior foreign sorts. THE IRISH QUESTION. MELBOURNE, March 15. Th e Labour Party passed a resolution urging the Government to again endeavour to settle the Irish question.
