Speaking at Castlemaine, Mr. Pearce said for many years before the war German agents were sending Germany the fullest information regarding Australia to enable them, when the time came, to find a weak spot, •how best to land, feed, and march troops to the vital points. The defence department had evidence that Germany intended to bring here armies which would crush us out of existence.
