FIRES.
A SAWMILL ABLAZE. AUCKLAND, this day. The Northern Timber Co’s mill at Taupiri, was the scene of a destructive fire on Saturday evening. It is understood the building and plant were destroyed. The stock of timber was saved. The building and plant were valued at £7OOO, and the only insurance was for £1750, in the New Zealand office. The Company’s mill was destroyed by fire about six years ago; the property now lost was practically new.
