BURIED TREASURE FOUND BY YOUTHS.
Treasure of enormous value lias been unearthed by two youths named Lorenzo Gonzalaz and Inocentc Barrial at llalft Habitaeion, near Havana. The locality, which 100 years ago, wu" a. favourite resort of smugglers, ■xv • long ago believed to contain hidden ucalth, and since IS6O five differout search parties have been sent from Havana and other parts of Cuba to dig .for the buried hoard, all, however, v, inherit success. The two young men, after digging For several days, and reaching a depth cf forty feet, discovered a heavy wooden- box. Inside was a case of zinc. This was prised open and was found to contain sparkling jewels, uncut diamonds, emeralds, and saphires and a large number of gold coins. No pre- :];-:;■ estimate of the value of the treasure has vet been made, but experts de"lorc that it is not less than £1,000,000.
