FIRES.
FIRE IN AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, Feb 21. A five-roomed house at Carlton Gore Hoad was destroyed by fire early this morning. Miss Connor, S2 years of age, was rescued by Constable .Collins, who dashed through the burning ■house at considerable risk. Miss O Connor is now in hospital, suffering from burns. The house, which was gutted, was occupied by Mrs. Lefenu and her daughter, who escaped in their night attire.
