ELECTION ANNOUNCEMENT SURPRISES P.L.L. BiTTER CONTEST FORESHADOWED. SYDNEY, Feb 20. Mr. Holman’s announcement of the elections at such an early date came as a surprise to the P.L.L. section of the Labour Party, who, after the formation of the National Ministry strongly urged an appeal to the country.
