CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A Christchurch man named Christie, a member of the Reinforcements, being brought to Christchurch to ans\\ er a police charge, created a sensation when the Maori entered the harbour this morning, jumping overboard. The alarm was given and the steamer put back and lowered a boat. The man was a strong swimmer, but was overtaken. When caught it was found he had a lifebelt under his coat.
