SUNDAY PICTURES.
d=_' .L. 41To the Ldiror. Sir, —-Xo doubt “Churchman” conj eiders it easier to apologise to the ! previous writers than to answer the j questions asked by them, and to myriad it appears nm cly an attempt to evada them. I still maintain that “Churchman’s” views are narrow-minded, and from his letters I should judge him to be a man who sticks strictly to his business during the six days of the week | and holds the Sabbath such as dur 1 forefathers did, it then being a sin to | le ad or think of anything but the Bible lon teunday. u ar.e up.. “Churchman,” and broaden your mind, and get in touch with the world as it is to-day. ‘‘Churchman” holds that my assertions are so muck bluff and then stops, j If they are blah why cannot he prove j them to be so—not say so and then j stop. Yes, “Churchman,” I have attended church since Sunday pictures have been tiiscciuntued, and regularly previous to that., but my mind is broad enough to know that you can force a horse to water but cannot force him to drink. I do not suppose I patronise the Sunday pictures twice a year, but I am not selfish enough to wish to my neighbour. For “ Churchman ”Ho assort that the pictures arc a\bliud and. a snare for young people shows that j ho must consider Ids ability far above that of the Board of Censors we have in the Dominion. I personally consider a picture with a good moral (plenty of which exist) shown on Sunday would do more good than harm. “Churchman’s” remarks'about the young people staying in their homes makes one really laugh. Lot “Churchman” forego one Sunday night at church and have a good walk round town, and I think he would be inclined then to laugh at his own remark. “Churchman” asserts he has no brief for the Borough Council in one sentence and goes on to uphold their policy in the next. Well, “Churchman,” do not go too tleeply into the borough affairs or you will get bogged. “Churchman” again shows his narrow-minded ways when he mentions the club of which he is totally ignorant. Got into touch with these institutions “Churchman” before you. start appearing in the lime-light. I am* 'etc.; ' ' : "
