A TOLL OF HEAD MONEY J LONDON, Jan. 30. i The Prize Court lias reserved judgI meat in the claim brought by Comman- | der Boyle, Y.C., of the Ell, in regard ' to prize money for the sinking, in the Sea of Marmora of a Turkish gunboat ; and a transport carrying 6000 troops, all of whom were drowned. ; The Judge pointed out that if the i troops were included in the reckoning of | the prize money it would be increased from £2OOO to £31,000. (The payment of £5 a head oa the number on board a destroyed enemy ship of war is provided for in the act governing prizes. The first claim under the new regulations was made in the British prize court by Admiral Sturdee in respect of the destruction of the Seharnhorst. Gneisnau, Leipzig and Nurnburg. The court awarded £12,160. Captain Glossop, of Sydney, awarded £I9SS for the destruction of the Emden, the claim being based on the assumption that there were 397 men on board.
