MEETING OF CREDITORS.

'A meeting of the creditors of Samuel Llewellyn Serpell, Medical Practitioner, held at the Mangaweka Courthouse on Tuesday. Mr T. E. Saywell, Deputy Official Assignee, presiding. Mr Gascoigne appeared for bankrupt, and Mr Arrowsmith foi. J. Georgetti. Those present were: Messrs. McKay Turnbull, D. Munro, J. Georgetti, K. Crowther, J. W. Tompkins, C. Smith, 1). Barrel!, and M. Graham, The Assets were set down at £755 14s (id (expected to produce about £500) and Liabilities £955 2s (id. There was one secured creditor, D. Munro for £350. The leading unsecured creditors were: Messrs. D. Campbell £23, J. Georgetti £235, D, Munro and Co. £6O, M. Graham £7O, McKay Turnbull £349 3s 3d, Meyer and McGonnell £SO, Corpe and Edwards £54, J. W. Tompkins £3O, C. and J. Smith £22, Meldr.um, McLean and Gascoigne £l4 I3s 3d, Purser and Co, £22, and other small sums reaching £955 2s 6d. The bankrupt denied any partnership with Dr Boyd of Taihape. Mr Georgetti stated that he understood that Dr. Serpell who was going to the frcnt, was going to receive with allowances about £BOO per annum. The "bankrupt stated that he thought his pay was with allowances only £SOO per annum. Mr Gascoigne made the following proposal:—“That in the event of the Doctor ’s salary being £SOO per annum, he wall pay to his creditors £IOO per annum If the salary be £BOO, as suggested by Mr Georgetti, the creditors to receive £250 during the Doctor’s Military connection.’ 5 On the motion of Mr Tompkins, seconded by Mr Bamell, this was agreed to by the majority of those present, and it was further agreed to that the furniture be sold in Mangaweka. y,-as also carried on the motion Ox Mn Turnbull, seconded by Mr Georgetti, “That all Medical books and instruments he allowed to Doctor Serpell.”
