BOWLING NOTES.

On Anniversary Day, Messrs Yarnum, Neagle, Joll and Wham succeeded in wresting the "feathers" from the holders —James, McKenzie (sub), Evans and Riddick —by 20 to 15. It ! was a very close game, and at one stage the score stood at 11 —11 Handicap Pairs. —The result of the draw and -handicaps is as follows: De Luen and Marlow (rec 9) play Evans and Burrell (rec 3); James and Darvill (rec 3), play Drayton and Stent (rec 4); Neagle & Green (rec 4) play S-hanley and Sheppard (rec 7); McKenzie and Mortland ((rec 6), play Wham and Joll (rec 4), Boyd and McLaughlan (rec 3) play Somerville and Riddick rec 8) ,• bye, Varnam and DeLatour (rec 4). Conditions of play, etc.. are posted in the pavilion. The first round of the handicap competition must be completed by the 15th February. ; Bowl Challenge Pairs,—Neagle and Wham play Evans and Drayton. Marten defeated St Johns' for the Hum Cup last Aveek by 22 to 14. Taihape Club has entered in the next challenge, and will play Marton at Marton for the coveted trophy at an I early date.
