Thoms reported: Considering the exceptional dryweather experienced for the last two months most of the roads are in good order. It has taken a lot of attenton and work to prevent them tweaking, and unless we get a good they will break in spite of all the work we have done. The road from the top of the Turakina Hill to Wangaehu is very much, worn by motor traffic, and very rough to travel. It will be very difficult to keep this piece of road in good order until it is widened out to double its present width and a good coat of gravel put .on to the full width of the road. The grader completed the formation on Glasgow’s Road. Wangaehu, and was then brought into the yard as the ground got too hard to do further work at present. I have readjusted the roadmen’s lengths of road between Bulls, Martoii and Wangaehu, and have put another permanent man on the Wangaehu end.
