The Wellington Land Board held its monthly meeting on Thursday. There were present; —Messrs Ct. H. M. McClure, Commissioner of Crown Lanas (chairman), J. Dawson, H. T. Dillingham, J. Gcorgctti and C. Mclntyre. APPLICATIONS FOB LAND. Under part 3 of the Land Act, DOS —Section 54, block 5, Karioi S.D., (5 acres 0.R.P., Patrick Karney.—Approved. The following applications were granted or recommended: — Permits to occupy public reserves from year to year under the section 27 of the Public Reserves, etc.. Act, J. 908. —Section 17b, block 9, Pukeokahu, 6a 2r 35p, temporally permit, Jercmi-ih 0 ’Keefe. Annual rent £2 14s. Final applications under section 4 of the Discharged SoilierP Settlement Act, 1908. —Sections 29, ')>, block 5, Karioi S.D., 217 a2r 7p, P.L., V.. G. Blacklock. Annual rent 139 4s. Subject to any rights of tramway already gra.nlcd through section. S.ctiun 2/, block 4, Kaitickc S.D., 495 acres, R.L., W. C 4. Barker. It was resolved to take no action as to the improvements required on section 2, block (3, Eualiine, whilst the selector, Corporal V. F- Nettlcford, is on active service. Mrs M. Wilson applied on behalf of her husband, Clmrles Wilson, who left with the 16th Reinforcements, for exemption from payment of rent whilst he is on active service, on Section G2, block 5, Karioi. —Approved. With reference to the board s rc- | solution to offer Rangiwaea, 4F, No. K;3a,, for cash by public auction, it was resolved to fix the upset price at £SOO, and the loading for improvement at £l6O ISs. An application to have section 2, block 10, Karioi S.D., 20a 2r 19p, vested in it as a roadman’s resrve was received from the WJaimarjino County Council. —It was resolved to decline the application, and to offer the land for cash and deferred payment by public auction under section 0 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1915, as land of special value owing to the close proximity of the railway, at upset price of £135. The Eangataua Timber. Company, Ltd., applied for a renewal of its tramway license through sections 8,9, 10, i Hand 12, block 10, Manganni S.D., and section 30, block 3, Makotuku S.D., and it was resolved to grant them a now license for a period of five years from January 1, 1917, under section 30 < of the Land Act, 1898, at a rent of £lO per annum, subject to conditions as in last license. Messrs George Syme and Co., Ltd., advised that they will not require the use of their tramway through Soropito Village Settlement after May 31st, Ip 1 7, and it was lesolved to cancel license us on that date. The Commissioner reported that Mr G. Carlson’s renewed pastoral license of Eaketapamna run would expire on February 28. 19.17. —It was resolved to recommend that the present lessee be granted another renewal of his pastorj al license, for a term of one year, from . j March 1, 1917, at rent hitherto paid, viz., £lB2 per annum, under Section 50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, : 1913. With regard to Mr E. V. Dixon’s permit to occupy temporarily part of . what is now section 22, block 4, Kaiticke. it was resolved to confirm notice - of cancellation as on January 25, 1917, > which, has been issued to him.
