Saturday, Jan. 27 to Feb. 3. —Sale of sweets, vegetables, etc., Women’s Working Club shop, Railway rosebud. Tuesday, Jan. 30.—Assembly dance, railway social hall, Railway rosebud. Thursday, Feb. I.—Social and dance, O’Connor’s Hall, cards on stage, Rosebud May Denness. Saturday, Feb 3. —Paddy’s Market at O’Connor’s Hall, and winding up ceremony. All candidates. The shooting match at Mb E. Spooner’s residence this afternoon will commence at 1 p.m., all those interested in the spent, and that is practically all able to hold a gun, arc invited to take advantage of this favourable opportunity of indulging in the pastime. By so doing they will help the best of causes —that of providing our soldiers with a few of the comforts we arc enjoying hourly and daily.

Dancers arc reminded of the dance in O’Connor’s Hall to-night by No. 4 Commit lie This (sommittee held a most enjoyable dance at Bennett’s Biding on Thursday night. Tire committee of Rosebud May Denness arc holding a social and dance in O’Connor’s Hail on Thursday night, next. Curds on the stage will be provided for those who do not dance. Everything is being done to provide an enjoyable eenin gs entertainment. All committees desiring space at the Paddy’s Market on Saturday, February 3 arc requested to notify the organiser, telephone 197 or 199. The present position of the first fi%c rosebuds is as follows: Peggy Maj, .Maturou, 1; Marianna Hekouui, Native, 2; Mary O’Brien, Railway, o; Jean Gilchrist, Utiku, 4; Jean Camp-, bell, Ohutu 5.

The Railway rosebud committee arc holding two fixtures in the social hall next week. An assembly dance will be held on Tuesday night from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and on Friday night a euchre party and dance. Admission for both functions will be 1/-. The euchre party and dance held by the railway committee last night was u s usual very successful. Carstcus and Mr Q’Bullivau tied in the gent’s prize presented by Mr D. J. McLennan, and re-donated it to the committee. The ladies’ prize donated by Mr White was v ,- 0 n by Miss McGowan. Excellent music for the dances was provided by Messrs Collings, Roberts and Lalfg, who have been very generous in this respect right through the carnival. Housewives arc requested to visit 't he Women’s Working Club shop, where the Railway rosebud committee will dispose of vegetables, sweets, and other articles, during the carnival. All proceeds go towards providing soldiers comforts.
