BOWLING NOTES.

The committee of the Taihapc Bowling Club are calling for entries for championship pairs and handicap pairs. Entries close with the lion, secretary at 5 p.m., on Wednesday, January 17, and it is expected that every member will enter. In the championship cornpetition each pair will play every other pair, and some very keen and interesting games will doubtless eventuate. All players entering for the handicap pairs will be classified and handicapped by the match committee, and their, namos placed in a hat and drawn in pairs. Mr Yamam has challenged the present holders of the Pownall Feathers, and the game will take place as soon as possible. The holders are Messrs James, Thurston, Evans and Eiddick. Members arc reminded that the draw takes place punctually at 2.30 on Thursday afternoons, and it is essential that members desiring to be included in the draw should be on the green before that hour. The club has sent a challenge to play the .St. Johns Club for tht Hum Cup, and it is hoped that this valued trophy will again come to Taihapc in the near future.
