PRESIDENT WILSON'S NOTE. PARIS, Jan. 10. The Entente reply has been handed to the American Ambassador. It is not to be published for forty-eight hours after it reaches President Wilson. It contains more definite indications of the terms on which the Entente is prepared to open negotiations for peace. TO BE PUBLISHED ON FRIDAY. PARIS, Jan. 11. M. Briand delivered the reply to President Wilson. It will be published on Friday. PEACE DOES NOT MEAN FOOD. A WARNING TO GERMANY. AMSTERDAM, Jan. 11. Dr Miehaelis, one of the German State Under-Secretaries, in an article in the "Kolnisehe Yolks Zeitung," warns those desiring peace because they want food that peace will not mean more food. '' We must,'' he writes, "expect for years a limitation of food and a continuance of rationing in regard to the most important foodstuffs because Germany will be obliged to import as little as possible owing to the scarcity of tonnage, so that, even vfter the war, there will be necessity to pull our. belts tight."

BELGIUM'S REPLY TO PEACE NOTE.

Briand has handed to the Ameri; can Ambassador a note from the Belgian Government, adhering to the reply of the Allies, and thanking the'American Government for their generous ser- ! vices to the unfortunate Belgian, people. AN INTERNATIONAL PEACE LEAGUE. Received 11.50. LONDON. Jan 11. President Wilson approves of the suggestion of an International Peace League, if practicable, on the basis of nationality. This roughly indicates the reconstruction of European boundaries France is to be reconstructed in the spirit of restitution, Italian pro- ' vinces to be redeemed, Russia given \ access to the Sea of Marmora. Britain lis not mentioned. Belgium is to tie i indemnified, the Balkans to be rei drawn on the basis of nationalities.
