THE DARK SHADOW OVER RUSSIA. j Received 5.50. j "LONDON, Jan. 11. The Daily Chronicle states that Rasputin's murder has already had a healthy effect on Russian political life. Trepoff's fall seems complete. The tendency begun by Stunner's overthrow probably represents a progressive and anti-German victory of the Duma. The army and nation have been overshavod by the dark forces which Rasputin represented. Prinee Galitizin, a member of the Council of the Empire and leading Moderates therein, belongs to one of the largest and most famous houses in the nobility. In a remarkable speech at, the Council of Empire, in December, denouncing the dark forces, he said lie was dissatisfied at Trepog's succession to Stunner, and did not believe the chaDge would make any difference.. He demanded to know if Trepoff had full power to carry out reports, and declared: "We are not afraid of the external enemy; we are only afraid of an internal collapse." COINUgNUE WAR TO COMPLETE VICTORY. Received 9.15. -W PETROGRAD, Jan 11. Prince Gatatzin's career has been indistinguished, and he pursued a reactionary policy as Governor. He has ever declared that the war must be carried to complete victory. He denies the further prorogation of the Duma. THE INTOLERANT HUN. ENGLISH LANGUAGE BARRED. Received 8.55 THE HAGUE, Jan. 11. A correspondent says that Hindenburg* visiting a hospital at Cambria, was angered by a German nurse speaking English to British wounded, and ordered her removal, declaring that no one speaking English would be employed nursing British soldiers.
