The euchre party and dance, held by the committee of the Railway Rosebud last night proved a very successful function. The lady's euchre prize was won by Mrs. King and the gentlemen's by Mr. J. S. Gardiner. Both these handsome articles were the gift of Mr. Spence. Taihape. The lady's conso- ( Jation prize was won by Miss McGowan, and the gent's by Mr. G. Ward. After an excellent supper provided by the ladies' committee, the floor was cleared for dancing to delightful music supplied gratis by Messrs Roberts (violin), and Collings (piano). Altogether the function was a pleasing success and augurs well for the similar functions to be held weekly. A nominal charge of one shilling each only has been decided upon, and, besides contributing to the Soldiers' Comforts Fund patrons are assured of a first-class night's enjoyment. Secretaries of all candidates are reminded of the meeting in the Women's Working Club on Monday night at 8 p.m.
