MAIN TRUNK BLOCK.

LOOP LINE TO BE CONSTRUCTED. AUCKLAND, Dec 22. The Railway Department hopes to have completed the construction of a loop line past the big- slip at Kaeka cutting, between Pukekohe and Drury, ; in time to permit the through passage of Sunday night's Main Trunk express es from Auckland to Wellington. A large gang of men are employed laying a new length of line. Meanwhile all passengers are compelled to transfer from train to train on arrival at either end of the slip, entailing a halfmile walk. The delay at the slip is causing all trains to arrive here two to three hours late. Outward trains are all leaving on schedule time except the two night expresses to Wellington. These have bee n replaced until the breach is repaired by a special train leaving, heiteiat 2 a.m., and due at Wellington at 10 p.m. the same day. Passengers are putting up with the discomfort of making the walk past the slip good-naturedly, and the Railway Department is doing all possible for the passenger's convenience.
