ALLIED MINISTERS AFLOAT. TRANSFER OF TROOPS PROCEEDING. (United Service). LONDON, Dec. 17. Mr Jeffries at Athens, says: FrancoBritish Ministers remain afloat at Piraeus pending instructions. It is expected that the transfer of Greek troops and artillery will be completed in about three weeks. Athens is calm. GREECE STOCK EXCHANGE PANICS. Received 11.20. ATHENS, Dec IS. The Athens Stock Exchange is in a panic, owing to the blockade. AN APPEAL. FOR THOSE BLINDED IN THE WAR Received 11.20. LONDON, Dec 18. Sir Arthur Pearson appeals to the Press of the world as follows: I request your readers to send New Year's gifts to help those blinded in the war. Numbers are coming in rapidly, and already 160 have been taught to read the Braille typewriter and settled profitably in occupations, and hundreds are learning and preparing to learn. A large permanent fund is needed to assure adequate supervision and assistance. I trust Those possessing the inestimable gift of sight send a New Year’s thanks offering for the benefit of those who have given their eyes for the Empire.
