ROSEBUD COMPETITION.
Nominations are still coming to hand for the Rosebud Competition, the executive committee acted wisely in postponing the competition until after the "New Year. This, project promises to be one of such magnitude that it could not have been handled with justice in such a short space of time. So far nominations of Rosebuds have been received from Rangataiia, Mataroa. Tiriaukawa. and Pukes kahu, -an<i three from Taihape. The executive committee will meet shortly and will.decide upon a closing date for nominations, and also the closing date for the voting. These dates will be so arranged that country support-: ers who will then be clear of shearing, will be. able to give the matter every attention. The committee are very gratified at the success of the scheme to date. They are sanguine that the competition will result in such a sum being obtained that the good work of the Women's Working* Club of supplying comforts for our coys will not suffer for lack of funds for many days to come. The method adopted in selecting the Ros-cbud for one of the country districts was decidedly novel and clever; the school children of this particular district held a miniature election, proposing and selecting by vote the candidate of their choice.
