WOMEN’S WORKING CLUB.

“PADDY’S MARKET.”

During the past few days the great “Paddy’s Maket” train has been steadily drawing out of the first station of its journey. Gradually, as it has entered the open country, it has gained momentum, till now it is swinging along right merrily towards its destination at the Town Hall on Saturday, December 16. Several of its cars are already laden with energetic workers. The trucks are steadily filling with a universal collection of goods, of use to the youngest child or the eldest adult. Goods for tall or short, thin or stout folk. Other trucks, like many on a circus train, are tightly closed, defying even the searching eye of the reporter to discover their but their exteriors are placarded in large letters “Secret Novelties.” Above the noise of the departing train, the reporter heard screams of mirth in several cars. Here he discovered a band of expert yet natural fun-makers. It is rumoured that a Madame Mysterious is aboard, having just arrived from the planet Mars. She claims to really lift the veil usually screening the future. Some aboard claim to possess a bit of the Kaiser. In one truck the reporter discovered fittings for a wireless station, a baker’s oven, a dredge, and sections of an old village pump. The reporter is still seeking j to discover what these have to do wit-n | a “Paddy’s Market,” buf he intends to solve the mystery when the market opens. Everyone will hade the oppor-1 tunity of solving all the mysteries, ancr enjoying all the full by copying the reporter’s plan. The doors of the “Paddy’s Market” will stand wide open. All may come and ~go as they please. In place of the usual Is ticket for admission, are the words “Free Welcome!”

Remembering that all proceeds of the market are for corqforts for the boys at the front, no doubt everyone attending the Town Hall on Saturday December 16, will come with pockets laden with coin.
