I DESIRE to take the opportunity of Thanking the Ofilcsrs, and men of the Taihape Fire Brigade for their strenuous efforts in endeavouring to save my property, occupied by Mr. and Mrs Sutherland, although in this case their efforts were of no avail, through no fault of their own. They were the means of preventing the flames from spreading to the rest of the property, and I feel sure that given an ample water supply and the best of fire-fighting appliances, the Brigade may be relied on to do whatever men are capable of.
