WAR MACHINERY.
IMPORTANT SEIZURES IN NEUTRAL MAILS. Further revelations of the manner in -which the Germans use the mails of neutral countries for the importation of war machinery were made recently at the Prize Court, London, when application was made for the condemnation of a number of packages. It was stated that they were pants of machinery intended for munitions and trenchdrilling, and were intended for the German army. The machinery was captured on its way from America, and was made up small in 300 postal packages. Sir Samuel Evans said it was to be lianded over to the Crown, who desired do use it in making British munitions. The machinery included twist drills, .which was chiefly sent by the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company, to a Danish gentleman, but letters secretly intercepted prove that this gentleman was to receive on behalf of a German firm carrying on business in Berlin. Other parcels of machinery wore sent by the Union Steamship Company of Michigan. to the same Danish consignee. The Crown very much desired to have the goods; conscquentlythey would not be sold in the ordinary course, but handed over to the proper authorities for immediate use. Other letter parcels contained tea, tobacco, brass fittings, and Germanmade chemicals.
