Diplomats observe the utmost secrejcy regarding the Anglo-French note. Lambros admitted there would be an unpleasant sequel unless the negotiations achieved a compromise. It is understood that the AustroGcrman ambassadors leave Athens.

He made this announcement in reply to Conj servative spokesmen, j The representative of the Socialist i minority pointed out that \ iscount (Grey had never advocated the boycott jor destruction of Germany, and also I declared that peace would be impossible if Belgium Avere reduced to a vassal State. The “Preismuize Zeitung” says: “Now is the time for the Entente, and especially for England, to produce a peace programme.” The “VorAvaerts” hopes that Herr Holhveg’s speech Avill help to dissipate the clouds of hostile distrust.
RUSSIAN SUCCESSES.

The enemy were again driven out in the evening. An enmy offensive in the wooded Carpathians south of Dorna iWatra Avas repulsed.
