Soon after daylight, a gang of forty or fifty men were at work clearing the debris of yesterday's fire in the grandstand. The building was not quite demolished, and the big members' stairway will be in use to-mor-row to convey members and visitors to the front balcony. The stand and furnishings were insured for £7250, as follows: Building, Norwich Union £3500; South British £700; Commercial Union £700; Royal Exchange £700; Ocean £700; National Lire £7OO.
