TO-DAY’S EVENTS. AUCKLAND, this day. The A, R. C. Summer Meeting is taking place at Ellerslie. There is a large attendance, though the weather is misty and rain is falling. MAIDEN HURDLES.— Ulster 1, Guiding Way 2, Brookfield 3. Scr., Doncastor, Nildah, Totatoka, Tamahere and Pitau. Won by a length. Time: 2.52. , THE GUINEAS. —Hylas 1, Bjorneborg 2, Waiuta 3. All started. Waiuta was in front at the distance, wnere Hylas took charge, .stalling off a challenge by Bjorneborg. Won by threequarters of a length. Time: 1.45 1/5. WELCOME STAKES.—Gwent 1, Peuthesilia 2, Rathlin 3. Scr., Scottish Knight, Heavenly Dream, and Metallum. Gwent took charge after the first furlong and won easily by three lengths. Time: 1.2 2/5.
