T. H. Wilson, a discharged soldier, applied for section 4, block 11, Retaruke, 7a Or 36p, as a .homestead site until he can get proper access to his ; section 2, block 10, Retaruke.—lt was \ resolved to inform him that the J board will grant a temporary permit I to occupy in the meantime until a road | is made so that he can build on his j ow section, and if that tenure is in- ] sufficient to advise the board of his re j quirements. A report from the ranger was receiv . ed on sections 2 and 3, block 8, Rau- ; rimu suburbs, areas 9a Or 15p and 10a j Or 18p respectively. It was resolved to offer them for cash and deferred payment by public auction as land of special value under section 132 of The Land Act. 1908, at upset prices of £46 and £sl respectively. An application was received from Mr. S. W Spooner for western part .of section 4, block 7, Mjrtmgakaretu.—lt -was resolved to recommend that he be allowed to purchase for cash an area of about 12 acres at western end at a price of £6 per acre, subject to his defraying half cost of survey. Mr. P. J. McCann applied for part of section 4, block 7 and 8, block o Maungakaretu S.D. — It was resolved to recommend that he be allowed to select the south-eastern part of sec tion 4, block 7, 25 acres, at the price of £5 per acre, subject to his defray ing half cost of survey; also section 8, block 6, Maungakaretu S.D'., 20 acres, at the price of £4 10s per acre, both ion O.R.P. Mr. H. Peacock applied for section 5, block 7, Maungakaretu S.D. —It was resolved to recommend that he be allowed to select it for cash at the price of £4 10s per acre. Applications were received from J. Harrigan and W. Thoresen for a permit to occupy abo-it 2f>'j acres of Crown land at Horopito between the road and railway north, of sf-.ctloi 2, block 16, Manganui. —It was resolvec to decline Mr. Thoresen's application and to grant Mr. Havrigan a permit to occupy from year to year, ander faction 130 of the Land Act, 1908, at a rent of £l3 per annum, subject to tie usual conditions and to Crown's to grant splitting licenses over this area. Mrs. Maswell applied for a permit to occupy sections 1 to 11, and 14 to 24, block 12, and 2 to 8, block 14, Horopito West township, area 13a 2r 27p, and it was resolved to grant it from year to year, undersection 130 of the Land Act, 1908, at a rent of £2per annum, subject to the usual conditions. Applications were received from Messrs J. w. Pope and P. Sheahon a permit to occupy the undermentioned sections from year to year under section 130 of the Land Act, 1908, at a rent of £3 per annum, subject to the usual conditions: Sections 1 to 10, block 10; 1 to 7, block 11; 1.9 to 16, block 14, Horopito West township, area 29a 2r 16p. Messrs W. Booth and Co. applied for a. license to mill timber in Raketapauma block, north of the Wautapu stream, also for a license to split totaras which are too large for milling on the area included in their present license. —It was resolved to grant a license to mill over the additional area applied for, royalties to be payable on output at the same rates ss paid under present license, also ?-:? grant a license to split unroillabre totaras at a royalty' of 12s per 100 posts.
