BOTH SIDES OF CONSCRIPTION.
In the November issue of "Life," just to hand, Dr. Fitchett handles the subject of Conscription in a long and extremely readable article. It is a clear and, as near as possibly can be, unbiassed review of both sides of the question, and is worth studying by every reader of this paper who has a vote. Dr. Fitchett points out that, while there are extremists on both sides, there are also sane, reasonable men with strong and deep-rooted con victions on both sides, and .he deals with the arguments for and against in his usual trenchant style. This article forms one of six sections, in which Dr. Fitchett deals with the Great War. In another section he outlines the German strategy from the beginning of the war till the present date, and points out wherein it •has failed and is likely to become bankrupt. Whilst other special articles and the bulk of the Departments deal with various aspects of the war there are plenty of outside interests dealt with, entitling "Life" to maintain its claim as the magazine par excellence for the busy man.
