SHELLING THE'LOADED BOATS. Rceived 9.40. WASHINGTON, o|t 31. The American Consul at Queenstown has cabled: The Rowamnore, bound from Baltimore to Liverpool, was fired on by a submarine, which shot away her steering gear. The Rowanmore stopped and signalled that they were abandoning the ship, but the submarine continued to shell the boats after they cleared the ship. There were no casualties. There were seven Americans aboard.
