AMUSEMENTS.
EVERYBODY’S. jk_ It is customary for the management of “Everybody’s’ ’ Pictures to submit in Saturday and Monday’s programmes something big in thaway of special feature pictures, tonight ’s programme gives promise of equalling the best yet sr” fitted, comprising a thrilling and exciting drama entitled “The Reaping,” and a Charley Chaplin comedy, in two parts, “The Tramp.” With such a strong attraction the management ’deserve the big houses they are enjoying. Another forthcoming attraction is “The Woman Who Did,” which features the Dunedin actress Miss Eve Balfour, who has made a name- fer her self as a first-rate screen actress in England. THREE STARS. We have at different times seen first class programmes at this theatre, but last night eclipsed anything that has been shown here. The picture was really a nevelation in motion pictures. The first star shown was "The Morals of Marcus, ’ ’ and the acting of Marie Doro was a treat, and in the many, far ahead of Mary Pickfond. The other star was "The Arab." In this you have some of the finest scenic effects that have ever been screened hene, while the artists are perfect. To the picture patrons of Taihape we strongly recommend this picture, and like the writer you will agree that it a programme not to be missed. It will be shown fon the last time to-night. "Momls of Marcus” will commence at--8 sharp, and "The Arab" at 9.15. A complete change to-morrow night (Sunday), TOWN HALL TO-MORROW NIGHT* The last opportunity Taihape people will have of hearing the wonderful young violinist, Henri de Lissac, will be given in the Town Hall to-morrow night. Young de Lissac is only nine years of age, and yet he performs music in pure artistic style that men violinists of a lifetime have not been . able to interpret. He is/pn the w of going to Europe to/ complete -his f . studies, and these e$ are to' assist in financing the 7£n ney. It is a fact that in Christchurch,, .Wellington, , Dunedin, . Invercargill,. Ashburton, in fact wherever this young prodigy has appeared, he baa had packed audiences. in all tlfe towns mentioned the. hall was not large enough, and many, had to be; i turned away. In after years it is realised that high prices for admission will have to be paid to hear Henri. Lissac, when he appears a fully developed and cultured performer; Taihape people can now hear him-at their own price, and if only from an point of view, a full hall should greet this young genius on his last appear--ance here. The Taihape Orchestra will assist, and although'this Organisation has had many set-backs in its short career, it will, without doubt, r able to make a respectable effort. It is hoped young de Lissac will meet with that support his rare genius as a violinist richly merits.
