RAPID HEADWAY
ADVANCE BY COMBINED FORCES. BULGARS SUFFER SEVERELY. LONDON, Oct 12. The "Morning Post's" correspondent at Petrograd states that the RussoRoumanians made rapid headway at the Dobrudja and advanced eight to 25 miles against stubborn opposition. The enemy's left holds fast about Lasova, but the right retired 25 miles, and the centre a little less. The Bulgarians suffered most, as they were posted where they were exposed to a bombardmnt across the Danube. Mackensen failed to bold the neckland under 35 miles in width. His front row is expanding, but the Roumanians, supported by Russian monitors, command the Danube.
A Roumanian crmmunique says the enemy attacks in Transylvania worn repulsed, especially in the vicinity of Caineni and Vulcan Passes.
A telegram received in Rome says fierce fighting continues in the vicinity of Brasso. The Austrian advance was stopped, thanks to the arrival of new Allied forces. The Roumanian losses were small
