Papers represent the tanks as insignificant weapons. They publish a picture of a gigantic nightmare war engine, recalling H. G. Wells’ wildest fictions, side by side with an ordinary rubber tyred •car, the second representing what England wischs the world to believe, the other representing the real thing. THE MACEDONIAN REVOLT. LONDON, October 9. A British official message reports— On the Salonika-Doiran front there was the usual artillery bombardment. Or. the Struma front, the enemy working parties are active ’ close to our lines. Over 1500 enemy dead were counted The Serbians, after stubborn fighting, occupied positions north of Rojar, compelling the Bulgarians to retreat. They obtained a footing on the Dabrojalich Mountains, the most important national barrier on the frontier, strongly fortified, and considered impregnable. A number of prisoners and much booty were taken.
