NEW ZEALAND NEWS.

NEW DRILL. FOR NEjW ZEALAND CADETS. WELLINGTON, this day. Important changes are being introduced in the training of New Zealand’s territorial army with a view to obtaining increased efficiency. It is a most far-reaching decision and applies to senior cadets. An entirely new syllabus is adopted which spreads over the four years they are senior cadets, and provides for their being put through the same number of drills as a recruit in the regular British Army during six months’ continuous training. COMMISSIONER CULLEN RETIRED LOST THE AGE QUALIFICATION. WELLINGTON, Oct 10. It is announced that John Cullen, Commissioner of Police, retires from the Public Service on November 23.
