MANAWATU SHOW.
Our Palmerston North correspondent advises that preparations for the big semi-National Show are now well forward, and the entries are coming in fast, indicating a most successful function. A new departure, and one with 2l most useful object in view, is the undertaking of the catering by the women workers of the Palmerston North district. It is hoped that a very substantial sum will be produe'H for our sick and wounded boys a? the front from this effort. The grounds and buildings are in splendid cond> tion for the reception of the many valuable exhibits which will ocupy them next month.
A great boon to cattle exhibitors Is the handsome pavilion brought into service for the first time last year. Dog fanciers are looking forward to a good exhibition, there being many enquiries from quarters not hitherto represented. Entries close for Competitions and all divisions of live stock on Saturday, 14th inst, after which late fees will bo charged up to 23rd inst. Intending exhibitors who have not had a prize schedule should write immediately -to the secretary, Mr TV. T. Penny. Box 85. Palmerston North.
