LOST HALF HIS BAG.
That sergeant of a Yorkshire regiment who lost half his bag of fourteen and-twenty prisoners from the fourth row r of German trenches from enemy barrage fire at Frieourt, and reported,| with regret that had not been able to bring more than twelve, was something of a humorist. This, mark, after he had been fired on all day, and Avas the only one of his section able to stand upright Avhen darkness fell. But his aim Avas the bag —the whole bag. He Avas accordingly disappointed and expressed the same apologetically, ' Enthusiasts might call this grit. Perhaps they Avonld not bo far wrong.
