LAND BALLOT.

A ballot for sections in the Seaforth Settlement was held to-day at the office of the Canterbury Land Board Four soldiers applied for sections and there were allotted, one being held over for further consideration. The sections were allotted to James Fitzharris (section 2), who was examined in hospital at Wanganui; William Horgan (section 7), now on the staff of the Christehurch Tramway Board; and Thomas C. Radford (section S), of Temuka (approved conditionally). The application of E. M. Gibson, now a letter-carrier, was held over- for further consideration.
