THREE STARS. The third series of the popular serial “Stingaree,” entitled “The Black Hole of Glenranaly,” will he pne of the stars to-night. The first two already shown has established these j series, and no further comment is needed. The number to-night shows how “Stingaree” beats the Scotch banker. The second star will be one of the most laughable shown here, as it features Marie Dressier, the greatest of comedy actresses, in “Tillie’s Tomato Surprise” —there is 2000 feet of laughs in it. “Arrival of the Russians in France,” “Algerian Acrobats” (who--, are very clever), “Liveliness on the , British Front” (official war film),“Third Party” (Vit. Drama), and.the Gazeue, making a splendid programme

EVERYBODY’S PICTURES. The new picture show, “Everybody’s” was opened on Saturday night, and there was a very large attendance, the hall being packed. The house was probably a record one, and the management are very pleased at the-jfiuge success of the first night of their.;venture. The programme was from start to finish, and the audience undoubtedly appreciated the screening of each and every picture. There was no flicker, and consequently the eyes were not strained at all. The star item “Hearts in Exile” is one of the finest films ever shown in New Zealand, and features Clara Kimball Young, the beautiful actress. This picture, when shown in Wellington, achieved a wonderful success, and the theatre was packed nightly. It will be shown again to-night, and no doubt there will be another large attendance. Supporting it is a Charlie Chaplin picture entitled “A Night Out.” On Saturday every member of the audience rocked with laughter during the screening. The picture is undoubtedly screamingly funny.

On Tuesday (to-morrow night) there will be shown an interesting Famous Player picture, “After Dark,” adapted from the famous play by Dion Boucicault. It is replete with sensational happenings, which follow each other with exciting rapidity. The £ait is a powerful one, -headed by the celebrated Australian actor, Alex R. Francis.
