WANGANUI AND WAIMARINO.
PROPOSAL FOR RAILWAY. UNDER LOCAL RAILWAYS’ ACT. A conference of local bodies between Wanganui and Raetihi is being held to-day to consider joining by railway this district under the Local Railways Act, and to construct and run a railway from Wanganui to the Main Trunk Line via the Waimarino district. A resolution was moved by the Mayor of Wanganui to that effect, and it is now under discussion.
