The final for the Golf Club's Championship was played last week between Evans and Todd. The former played a very fine game, and proved a winner at the end of the third round, his score being 41 for each round—a splendid performance. Evans thus won the championship for the fourth time, a record well deserved, for this year he has shown himself much superior. to the other members of the club. Two ladies, Miss Spooner and Miss. • Corson, who had tied in the previous ladies competition, played off, the latter winning on the card 67 the former doing 67 —11—56_ The Red Cross Competition, for which there were record entries, proved a chapter of surprises. Several handicaps were broken, : the winner of the Men's Stroke being Powell, with 98 —28 —70, Andrews being second with SB—l6 —72. Others were O 'Keefe 109—33—76, Champion 102>—2,4 78, Neagle 94—16—78, Ryan 92—13—79. The Stroke was won by Miss with 63—11—52, others being Miss Corson 669 —57, | Miss Spooner 63 —6 —57, Mrs Train 73 —16— 57, Miss Broughton 75—14 —59. This week a junior team has challenged the seniors to a stroke match. The. following is the draw:—Evans plays Hesketh, Andrews plays Kelsall, Bray plays Train, Todd plays Dashwood, Ryan plays O'Keefe, Neagle plays James, YVakeman plays Mortland, Powell plays Spooner, Champion plays Wason, Beban plays Gardner. The cards will also count for the BrayTrophy.
